Patrol Car Strikes 5-Year-Old Girl, Philadelphia Police Say

A child was hospitalized after being struck by a police car in Southwest Philadelphia on Tuesday night, June 4, authorities say.

A patrol officer hit a 5-year-old girl on the 1600 block of South Ithan Street just before 7:30 p.m., PPD said. She was taken to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and is reportedly in stable condition. 

No one else was injured and the crash is under investigation, police said.
